Please note that any and all offers of employment are contingent on the successful completion of a background check, reference check, and new hire packet. In roles where driving is required as an essential function, a driver history check must also be successfully completed.

Essential Functions

This person will play an important part in the work that we do each day. In addition to all other duties as assigned, this role will:

  • Safely and effectively operate a school bus or van on assigned school or trip-related routes.
  • Follow and help enforce all city, state, and federal regulations around vehicle operations and the transport of students, members, or participants.
  • Attend all training and in-services around safety, vehicle operations, and staffing.
  • Serve as a mandated reporter within our transportation operations.
  • Ensure the safety of youth on the bus in conjunction with the bus monitor(s) assigned to their vehicles.

Qualifications

The requirements and preferences (where indicated) for this role are listed below. Please review them carefully to ensure that you apply for the role that best matches your qualifications. Additional years of professional experience or a Rank of E-5 or better may be used in lieu of education requirements where permitted.

  • CDL A or B license with an "S" Endorsement 
    • Must remain in good standing and meet all training, physical, and federal requirements as conditions of employment
  • AED, CPR, and First Aid certified within 60 days of employment
  • At least 2 years of experience in driving School Buses or licenses vans
  • Have a satisfactory driving record and demonstrate defensive driving
  • High School, GED, or similar certification/experience
